 Volunteer opportunities for pta 2022-23

Classroom Volunteer – Help plan and coordinate classroom or grade level
parties with other parents. See the Classroom Volunteer page for more
information. Most volunteer time is a few weeks before the party and
during the party date. Classroom Volunteers are also involved in
Teacher Appreciation Week.
Classroom/Grade Level Parties – Assist classroom volunteers with details
executing parties for the classroom or grade level. Assistance is needed in
planning and on the day of the party. Parties are held on:


Library Helpers – Assist with re-shelving books and other miscellaneous
jobs to assist the Librarian. Will be 1-2 hours of volunteering on set days.
Guided Reading Library Helpers - Assist with re-shelving books and
checking in the Guided Reading Books used by the teachers and
students. This role is during the school day throughout the school year.
Will be 1-2 hours of volunteering on set days. Prefer Volunteers are the
same each week or on a rotation of a few parents to learn the check-in
Thursday Folders - Help file and sort information sheets for Thursday
folders. Opportunity is on Thursdays between 9:30 am-1:45 pm and
takes approximately 15-30 minutes. Each classroom needs a parent or
parent team to commit to this opportunity consistently each week. 

Health Screens – Help the school nurse complete the health screens of
students. This role will be one or two days during the school day in the
WATCH D.O.G.S - Volunteer opportunity for Fathers, Stepfathers,
Grandfathers, Uncles, and other Father figure role models in a student's
life. Male volunteers assist with school activities (such as carpool, GMT,
PE classes, recess, helping in the cafeteria, etc.) on campus during the
school day. They also serve as another set of eyes to increase security
in the school. 
Fall Book Fair – Assist during Book Fair by volunteering to help with
setup, previews, operate the register, re-shelf books, and other duties.

Teacher Time Off - Assist the Librarian in scheduled activities with the
students in the Library while the classroom teacher finishes up final grading
and projects. Teacher Time Off occurs twice a year, a couple of weeks
before Winter Break and a few weeks before the End of the School Year.
This is a daytime volunteer opportunity. 
Science Night - Come learn all about different science, chemistry,
engineering, and physics forms during this Family fun event. Teachers create
cool science-themed hands-on centers for the students to explore and
learn all things science. Help at the event by assisting students with
activities and making sure tables are supplied with materials. Held in
correlation with the Science Fair in January. 

 Taylor Fun Run – Assist PTA with executing our largest fundraiser. Roles
include water station, cheering stations, counting laps, set-up and clean-

up along with volunteer roles to help plan the event. 


Multicultural Day – Students rotate through several stations during their
specials class time. Volunteers are needed to assist with each station.

Teacher Treats – Provide cookies, brownies, and sweet treats for the
teachers and staff.
Val-o-gramsParent volunteers are needed to
man the sales table, assist students in purchasing and filling out the
actual Val-o-gram to send to friends and teachers in celebration of
Valentine's Day. 
Spring Book Fair – Assist during the Book Fair by volunteering to help
with setup, student previews, man the register, re-shelf books, and other
Raffle – Held in conjunction with Spring Book Fair. This role will
man tables during lunchtimes to collect funds from the students and
help students make selections for the raffle.

Field Day – This is a fun event for the kids to celebrate nearing the
end of school. Assistance needed manning stations, games, and other

Diverse Abilities Day – This fun and interactive event allows students to
rotate through stations and learn more about topics such as asthma,
autism, and motor skills. Volunteers are needed to work at each station
(instructions will be provided). 


  Coin Collecting Challenge – Assistance is needed to help students place change in the correct buckets and needed to count change.
