Why Fundraising?

Taylor PTA raises funds to supplement the district budgets to allow the school to provide additional programs and events that complete the curriculum or enhance the learning process.  We strive to provide  programs to enhance the science curriculum, such as High Touch/High Tech, Dallas Zoo and Dinosaur George. The overall cost for High Touch/High Tech is nearly $14,000. The PTA also funds the roller skating program, which is part of the P.E. curriculum for grades 3 through 5, and Drum Café to build skills in collaboration and teamwork.  In addition, we support our teachers by planning the class parties and teacher luncheons. 

What Fundraising?

There's several ways you can help. 

Join the PTA. Dues are used for Taylor programs and supplies.

Taylor PTA's main fundraiser is the Fun Run where students collect donations for laps run/walked for 20 minutes during their specials period.  All money raised goes directly to support Taylor Elementary and your kids.  The students raise money by getting pledges for each lap they run/walk (the laps are short and most kids run 20 laps!). Taylor PTA also works with local sponsors to get them to support our Fun Run. If you know a business that would like to partner with us, please contact us!

Additional smaller fundraisers in the Spring like Val-o-grams and Spring Coin War also help the PTA meet the goal. The Fall and Spring book fairs raises funds for programs, particularly increasing books for students at home, in their classrooms, and at the library.

Kroger shoppers also can attach their Kroger cards to our school so we can earn money back.

Shopping on Amazon.com allows you to link your purchases to raising funds to Taylor. Shop via www.smile.amazon.com and use the PTA Texas Congress Portia Taylor Elementary PTA as your charity of choice.

Collect Box Tops from certain General Mills and other products. Scan the Box Tops QR code to the Box Tops App as detailed on the box. Taylor receives $0.10 for each Box Top. It is an easy way to get products you need and raise money for Taylor.
