Fall Book Fair 2022
The PTA is holding the Fall Book Fair in the Taylor library from Monday September 19 through Friday September 23. We will need volunteers to help make this event happen.
This is a great PTA event to get involved in to meet other members and parents. The students really love seeing you in the building. There are three ways to volunteer:
ORGANIZE FLYERS: Pick up the box of flyers at school and take home. Sort and organize the flyers by class and return to school by Sept 7. Flyers are then put into Thursday folders on Sept 8.
PREVIEW DAYS: Monday Sept 19 and Tuesday Sept 20 8:30am-2:30pm. Help students and staff find books; no sales these days.
SALES DAYS: Wednesday Sept 21 - Friday Sept 23: 8:30am-2:30pm. Bring the students from the classes to the Book Fair, run the registers, and help students pick out books (especially the little ones).
You must have a completed BACKGROUND CHECK if you plan to volunteer at any event at Taylor this year. This must be completed every school year and only takes a few minutes. Information to complete this can be found HERE.
Thank you for your support of Taylor Elementary! As always, funds raised by the book fair go right back into resources and programming for our students.

President's Message
Welcome families to the start of another great school year! My name is Megan Wright, and I am the new president of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at Taylor Elementary. This will be my family’s third year at Taylor after moving here from Oregon, and our daughter will be in third grade. Before moving here, I was a school counselor for 12 years. Now I get to teach at the University of North Texas and be involved as a parent at Taylor.
This year I look forward to continuing the strong work the PTA has been doing to increase care for our students, staff, and families. We promote connections within our community to advocate for the well-being of our students through educational programming and supporting staff. In order to do this well, the PTA relies on you, the parents, to contribute your time, talents, and energy. My parents were heavily involved in the PTA when I was a child, so I grew up knowing the benefits of having parents involved in my school experience.
Being a member of the PTA allows you to know more about what is happening throughout the year. You may know me from the book fair last year; serving as co-chair was a rewarding experience. I was able to be on campus more often, so I met teachers and staff and interacted with students. They love having parents around! Our school values the diversity of our families and welcomes all the cultures and backgrounds you bring: Taylor is better because of you! Volunteering at fundraising or programming events or in a more specific role will benefit you and our students.
Please consider joining me as a member of the PTA https://taylorelementarypta.membershiptoolkit.com/membership.
We are stronger together,
Megan Wright
